CHARLOTTENBORG OG COPENHAGEN ART FESTIVAL
Copenhagen Art Festival (CAF) åbner den 24. august i 2012, og den arrangeres af de fem kunsthaller i byen – heriblandt Charlottenborg. CAF præsenterer udstillinger på kunsthallerne, projekter i det offentlige rum, performances, filmvisninger, seminarer og andre events. Festivalen vil præsentere signifikante kunstværker af en lang række etablerede såvel som yngre, up-and-coming kunstnere på den danske og udenlandske kunstscene, heriblandt nye bestillingsarbejder, der alle forholder sig til det overordnede tema 'fællesskaber'.
Aktiviteter i februar
Der bliver mulighed for at få en forsmag på festivalen i februar gennem et film- og performance program, der byder på værker af kunstnerne Ruth Ewan (GB), Søren Thilo Funder (DK), Yorgos Sapountzis (GR), Wooloo (DK), Vladimir Tomić (DK) og Otto Karvonen (FIN). Filmene vises på de fem kunsthaller og forskellige steder i byen. Performanceprogrammet præsenterer kunstnerne Magnús Logi Kristinsson (IS), Otto Karvonen (FIN) og Leif Holmstrand (SE), som vil lave interventioner hver lørdag i februar i området omkring Højbro Plads.
Der inviteres også til paneldiskussion på Gl. Strand torsdag den 16. februar kl. 19. Diskussionen vil fokusere på visionerne for og forventningerne til sommerens festival. I panelet sidder Lene Crone Jensen (festivalleder) og direktører fra kunsthallerne. CAF’s aktiviteter i februar udgør en del af programmet for Wondercool, der er en vinterfestival arrangeret af Wonderfull Copenhagen. CHARLOTTENBORG AND COPENHAGEN ART FESTIVAL
Copenhagen Art Festival (CAF) is opening in August 2012 and is being organised by the five contemporary art centres in the city – including Charlottenborg. CAF will include exhibitions at the art centres, projects in public space, as well as performances, screenings, seminars and other events. The festival will present significant artworks by a wide range of established as well as emerging artists from the region and beyond, including many new commissions, and will have the overall theme of ‘communities’.
Activities in February
In February there will be a chance to have a foretaste of the festival through a film and performance programme. The film programme features the artists Ruth Ewan (GB), Søren Thilo Funder (DK), Yorgos Sapountzis (GR), Wooloo (DK), Vladimir Tomić (DK) and Otto Karvonen (FIN), and will be presented at the five art centres as well as at other venues in the city. The performance programme features the artists Magnús Logi Kristinsson (IS), Otto Karvonen (FIN) and Leif Holmstrand (SE), who will make interventions every Saturday in February in the area around Højbro Plads.
There will also be a panel discussion at Gl. Strand on Thursday 16 February at 19H. The discussion will centre on the visions and expectations for the festival, and will feature Lene Crone Jensen (Festival Manager) and directors from the art centres. CAF’s activities in February form part of the Wondercool programme, a winter festival organised by Wonderful Copenhagen.
